Union Bike Scheme
This is a new scheme this year set up between MMUnion ( MMU Students' Union) and UMSU (University of Manchester SU) which takes abandoned bikes around campus, which can’t be returned to their owner, fixes them up, spray paints them and then rents them out to students termly for a mere £1 a week!
Sound good? At the moment there are only 5 bikes which are being ridden around the city, with another 50 or so still being fixed up by student volunteers with expert bike knowledge.
