Great quality basics plus an emphasis on Fairtrade and organic fabric have made eco-label Liv one to take note of
With the concept of eco-fashion gaining ground, it’s not surprising that the last few years have seen an explosion in the number of eco-friendly and ethical brands available. From People Tree to Edun, there’s something for every look and every price point.
One of the best of the new bunch is 100 percent organic label, Liv. The eco-equivalent of Boden, it stocks a mixture of clothes and homeware, including ranges for men and children, with the emphasis on quality basics.
This month sees the launch of their S/S11 collection, which includes the floor-sweeping Hanbury Maxi dress, £165, and the ultra-sophisticated Gannow dress, £95, which comes in purple, black or cream. Other top picks include the 100 percent organic cotton pyjamas, £45, and the sweet, cream, striped Dormston top, £75.
‘Liv wears its heart on its sleeve: it’s transparent to the beholder in how it’s produced, how it’s designed and how it makes you feel when you’re wearing it,’ says Liv’s fashion and knitwear designer, Dawn Foxall. ‘I design to create beautiful, desirable and wearable pieces which make women feel good from the inside out.’
