'Road-block' - taking on London's air pollution
Climate Rush group will hold mass ‘die-in’ to raise awareness around health impacts of London air pollution on July 13th
On Wednesday, 13th July, London-based activists Climate Rush will hold a cycle flashmob starting in Soho Square to highlight the adverse health impacts of air pollution in London and protest against the city’s slow response to the issue.
Air pollution in London is the worst in the UK and among the worst in Europe. Pollution from the city’s busiest roads exacerbates asthma and may also cause it in young children.
According to Climate Rush, Mayor of London Boris Johnson delayed implementing a key phase of the existing Low Emission Zone by 15 months to January 2012.
Climate Rush will give full details on the protest at Soho Square on the day. Pedestrians and other non-cyclists are welcome to participate.
When: Wednesday, 13th July, 6:30pm
