Women on Fire Easter event

Women on Fire is hosting an event this Saturday to celebrate and promote women’s rights

Women’s issues are something we are all familiar with. In the UK, issues surrounding workplace rights are still causing problems while elsewhere, inequality and domestic abuse are depressingly common. Women on Fire support women and their right to be heard all over the world. This Saturday, they will be hosting an event designed to bring people together to celebrate their cause and the women they fight for.

To be held at Westminster Central Hall this Saturday, the all-day event will be lead by female entrepreneurs from both the UK and elsewhere, who will debate tough topics such as poverty, business, human rights and ecology. Among the leaders will be Polly Higgins, a noted environmental international environmental lawyer and author who was voted one of the ‘Worlds Top 10 Visionary Thinkers’ by the Ecologist. Attendees have the chance to participate in the debates and also enjoy a selection of short films, live music, an art exhibition and a performance from a troupe of female drummers.

Where: Westminster Central Hall

When: Saturday, April 23, 9am-7pm

Help us keep the Ecologist platform going

Since 2012, the Ecologist has been owned and published by a small UK-based charity called the Resurgence Trust. We work hard to support the kind of independent journalism and comment that we know Ecologist readers enjoy but we need your help to keep going. We do all this on a very small budget with a very small editorial team and so joining the Trust or making a donation will show us you value our work and support the platform which is currently offered as a free service.
