The Climate Run

Students come together around Europe to raise money for the Jericho Project and awareness of climate change

Last year, a successful event called the Climate Run took place in Germany and France, with student participants who aimed to boost climate change awareness and raise money for charity. This year, courtesy of The Mason Trust, the Climate Run is being Norfolk. During this year’s event, students from around the U.K. will participate in a five-kilometre run to raise money for green projects at their schools and colleges, and for primary schools in Nairobi.

Students will also have a chance to speak, via video link, to their peers in Germany and France about each group’s respective efforts to combat climate change. A wide range of educational materials about climate change and other environmental issues and their effects will also be made available for participants.

Date: Thursday 7th April, 2011

Help us keep the Ecologist platform going

Since 2012, the Ecologist has been owned and published by a small UK-based charity called the Resurgence Trust. We work hard to support the kind of independent journalism and comment that we know Ecologist readers enjoy but we need your help to keep going. We do all this on a very small budget with a very small editorial team and so joining the Trust or making a donation will show us you value our work and support the platform which is currently offered as a free service.
