Clissett Wood open day, 18-19 Sept, Herefordshire
Learn about greenwood crafts and forest management near the Malvern Hills
Join Clissett Wood owners and artists for an open weekend at the acclaimed woodland centre.
Found five miles north of Ledbury in Herefordshire, the 10 acres of mature ash and oak, with hazel and sweet chestnut coppice, is the perfect place to learn about greenwood crafts and sensitive woodland management.
There will be displays and demonstrations in the hand-hewn timber-framed barn and throughout the wood, where visitors can see and learn about hand-turned bowls and bessels, carved green men, baskets, paintings, garden sculpture, free-form furniture, metal sculpture and tool-making, bark-dyed yarns, felted birds, pole-lathing and forging, and chainsaw carving. There will also be horse-and-cart rides, and tea and cakes.
