Forestry Commission's live music tour, June - July
Listen to live music from major solo artists and bands, from James Morrison and Katie Melua to Keane and Status Quo, all in stunning outdoor forest locations
The forest tour was launched in 2001 with Jools Holland and the Levellers performing at four participating Forestry Commission sites – Sherwood, Dalby, Bedgebury and Thetford.
The idea was to bring woodlands to new audiences by making them relevant and enjoyable to people in new ways, and create a respect for the environment in the process.
Over the years the tour has grown in stature to the extent that the Forestry Commission is now a major promoter of summer concerts and, with the addition of Delamere, Westonbirt and Cannock, Live Music events are regularly staged at seven sites.
This year in the months of June and July acts include James Morrison, Blondie, Katie Melua, The Saturdays, Status Quo, Doves, JLS, Keane and Simply Red, all in spectacular locations ranging across the country from Thetford Forest in Suffolk to Dalby Forest in North Yorkshire.
When/Where: June-July 2010, in a range of forest locations in the UK
