Climate Rush presents: Occupy the oil aisle at Waitrose

Say no to Waitrose's oily partnership with Shell and join the Climate Rush sit-in on March 6th

Since September, Waitrose has been in a bad romance with Shell but Climate Rush want Waitrose back. They’ll be telling Waitrose that with two stores on Shell forecourts and joint marketing campaigns, it is time to stop its trial partnership now, before it’s too late to turn back. Shell have been named and shamed as the most carbon-intensive oil company in the world, and their human rights abuses in the Niger Delta region of Nigeria have been widely condemned – do they really belong with ethical sustainability champions Waitrose?

Join them in telling Waitrose the painful truth on Tuesday 6th of March. Meet at 6.30pm sharp in the oil aisle of the Brunswick Centre Waitrose near Russell Square Station. Bring a picnic rug and prepare for a good-natured sit-in – ask Waitrose to be faithful and true to their special super-ethical customers!

When: Tuesday 6th March, 6.30pm

Where: Waitrose, Brunswick Centre, Russell Square

Help us keep the Ecologist platform going

Since 2012, the Ecologist has been owned and published by a small UK-based charity called the Resurgence Trust. We work hard to support the kind of independent journalism and comment that we know Ecologist readers enjoy but we need your help to keep going. We do all this on a very small budget with a very small editorial team and so joining the Trust or making a donation will show us you value our work and support the platform which is currently offered as a free service.
