Obama & Climate Change

If there is one big decision Obama can make to end Climate Silence and really push through effective policies to save our planet it is to appoint Al Gore as his chief Climate Change advisor, says Satish Kumar
70 per cent of Americans now accept global warming as a fact - this is a Tipping Point
Congratulations Dear Barack Obama! Your victory this time around is even more significant than the last. In 2008, many voters were voting against the Bush administration; this time people have voted for you.
The tipping point arrived at the precise moment the East Coast of America was hit by Hurricane Sandy. At that moment, many Americans realised that Romney is a climate change denier whereas you and your party will take steps to address the issues of climate change more sincerely.
As we know, the majority of Americans – some 70 per cent according to the polls – now believe climate change and environmental protection are urgent issues and I hope you will not disappoint your nation (or the rest of the world) and that you really will take the steps that are needed now to protect the planet.
One decision you can make immediately is to appoint Al Gore as the head of the Environment Agency and make him your top climate change advisor.
He, more than anyone else on your political scene, is a competent, committed and authentic environmentalist and his film, An Inconvenient Truth, is all the proof you need.
Al Gore would bring both new vigor and effective policies and help reassure the waiting world that the economy and the environment are the two wings of the same American eagle.
Mr Obama…you have our support….GO FOR IT!
